Vegan nutella healthy recipe

If you're a fan of Nutella but want to avoid using animal ingredients, try making your own vegan version at home! This recipe is easy to follow and uses simple ingredients to create a rich and chocolatey spread that's perfect for toast, fruit, or even just eating by the spoonful.

Gather your ingredients.

To make your own Nutella at home, you'll need just a few basic ingredients. You'll need 1 cup of hazelnuts, 1/2 cup of icing sugar, 1/4 cup of Velicious Hot Chocolate powder, 1/4 cup of melted coconut oil, vanilla essence and a pinch of salt. You'll also need a food processor or blender to mix everything together. Once you have all your ingredients, you're ready to get started!

Roast your hazelnuts.

The first step in making homemade Nutella is to roast and skin the hazelnuts. Preheat your oven to 175°C and spread the hazelnuts out on a baking sheet. Roast them in the oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until they're fragrant and lightly browned. Once they're done, let them cool for a few minutes, then transfer them to a clean kitchen towel. Rub the hazelnuts together in the towel to remove the skins. Don't worry if you can't get all the skins off - a little bit is fine.

Roasted hazelnuts

Blend the Hazelnuts and Chocolate.

Once your hazelnuts are roasted and skinned, it's time to blend them with the chocolate. In a food processor or high-powered blender, combine the hazelnuts, Velicious Hot Chocolate powder and coconut oil. Blend the mixture until it's smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed. Depending on the power of your blender, this could take anywhere from 5-8 minutes. Be patient and keep blending until you have a smooth, spreadable consistency.

Add the Remaining Ingredients.

Once your hazelnut and chocolate mixture is smooth and creamy, it's time to add the remaining ingredients. Start by adding in the icing sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Blend the mixture again until everything is well combined. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a tablespoon or two of coconut oil to help thin it out. Keep blending until you have a smooth and spreadable consistency. And that's it! Your homemade Nutella is ready to enjoy.

Store and Enjoy Your Homemade Nutella.

Once you've made your homemade Nutella, it's important to store it properly to keep it fresh. Transfer the spread to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. When you're ready to enjoy it, simply take it out of the fridge and let it come to room temperature before spreading it on toast, fruit, or anything else you desire. You can also use your homemade Nutella in baking recipes or as a delicious topping for ice cream. Enjoy!
